This allows families that are already registered to use an occasional drop-in service when needed, according to our availabilities. Each request for drop-ins’ services will have to be made 48 hours ahead of the requested day to allow the educator supervisor to ensure the space will be available for your child. The fees need to be paid at the latest the day the service is used.
The fees are 8$ to add morning care, 12$ to add afternoon care and 17$ to add morning and afternoon care.

We will do our best to have a substitute available to ensure a continuous service if we are short-staffed. If your child is absent due to sickness, family getaways, statutory holidays, etc., there are no refunds or fee adjustments applicable.

We believe active play is important for all the children while in our care. It helps promote healthy growth and development and supports body control and movement. Active play can help build strong bones and muscles, improve balance, coordination and assists with the development of gross and fine motor skills. It helps to promote the children’s confidence, improves concentration, thinking and learning skills. It provides opportunities to develop social, emotional, cognitive, language and motor skills. Children in our care will have daily access to active outside play (or inside if the weather is poor) which will consist of both un-facilitated play and semi-facilitated optional games and activities, for at least 1 hour daily.

The morning and after school care does a fire drill monthly and an emergency evacuation annually.
During an emergency and/or an evacuation (fire, earthquake, armed invasion, gas leak) the children will be directed towards the closest exit. The attendance sheet, cell phone, First Aid Kit, children’s parents/guardians contact information, emergency suitcase, and any other necessary items (medications, inhalers, etc.) will be taken with the Educator and children. The Educator will take the children to our first meeting area, or to the second meeting area if necessary and will take attendance. Our first meeting place (short term) is the baseball field located by the school. Our second meeting place is located at 1076 Penticton Avenue, close to the school. To minimize the impact of the situation on the children, they will be always reassured and entertained in appropriate ways during the emergency. After an evacuation, the parents will be contacted by the Educator to come and pick up their children. We will only go back into the school when we will get a confirmation from the principal, or community authorities.
